We paid Empower Wealth $16,000 to act as our buyer’s agent to source a property on our behalf. Of our five-property portfolio, the only property purchased through Empower Wealth has underperformed, depreciated in value, and negatively impacted our cash flow. At the same time we were sternly advised not to invest in Brisbane, despite significant subsequent market appreciation. On this basis, we would not recommend their services. We are about to sell at quite a loss and this combined with the holding costs and low yield have made for the worst investment we have ever made.
