What customers say
Based on genuine customer reviews
Members transferring their superannuation into this fund describe a frustrating experience with the movement of their money, with one account of funds leaving an account promptly but taking several days, including a weekend, before arriving at the destination. The same reviewer notes that a person in urgent need would be left waiting, and expresses a preference for the fund's earlier identity.
A longer-standing member explains that the fund originally served public servants, was later opened to self-employed people such as themselves, and performed well in that period, before the organisation changed its name without consulting members. That account suggests the rebrand was undertaken at considerable expense and eroded the trust the previous name had carried.

After a lifetime of hardwork I was happy to rely on First State Super which was my wife's super fund. They functioned well operating initially for public servants; I was self-employed prior to retirement. They then accepted non public servants and I put my super in there and it worked well. Then without consulting members they ditched their trusted name and reputationand presumably spent a lot of money declaring themselves now to be called Aware who again, without consultation with members spent a lot of money on advertisements promoting the new ethical investments strategy. Like most members, I like to think I am ethical but we all want a reasonable return on our money too, not just to feel good that someone at the top of Aware is choosing politically correct investments. One final note, recently I had reason to call them for advice, and I spoke to Angeline, and she was so helpful, they should employ more women or men with her abilities.
This company sucks. I filled out a form to transfer money from my account. Money Left my account but took days to get to my account . I had to wait over the weekend till Monday. Too dam bad if I was desperate. I Prefer First State Supper .
